தமிழர் அடையாளம் உலகம் எங்கும் பரவிக் கொண்டு வருகின்றது

அவுஸ்திரேலியாவில் மே மாதம் 21ஆம் தேதி நடந்த 47வது பராளுமன்ற தேர்தலில் மக்கள் தமது 31வது பிரதம மந்திரியாக தொழிற்கட்சியை சேர்ந்த அந்தோணி அல்பனீசி ஐ தெரிவு செய்திருக்கின்றார்கள். https://tallyroom.aec.gov.au/HouseDefault-27966.htm
இந்தத் தேர்தலில் மருத்துவராகவும் மருத்துவ ஆராய்ச்சியாளராகவும் கடமை புரிந்து இப்போது பாராளுமன்றத்துக்குத் தெரிவாகிய முதல் இலங்கையை பூர்வீகமாக கொண்ட தமிழ் பெண் மிஷேல் ஆனந்தராஜா ( Dr Michelle Ananda-Rajah ).

This is a momentous day for our country.
Our country chose change. Our country chose a better future.
Our country chose Labor.
And in Higgins, we’re on the cusp of making history.
After months of knocking doors, I lost my voice – but Higgins raised hers.
I’ll have more news to share as the count progresses.
An army of volunteers made this happen. I’m forever grateful.
I want to congratulate all the local candidates, and especially Katie Allen and Sonya Semmens and their teams.
Our campaign door by door uncovered a hunger for change.
For action on climate change. To restore integrity to government. To lead, and tackle the big issues.
For them, and for everyone else who didn’t vote for us, we have a profound responsibility.
We have to govern.
We have to show that good government is a vehicle for change.
We have to get to work.
And we will.
