Congratulations on your Appointment as US Ambassador to Sri Lanka
Dear Ambassador Chung,
Tamil diaspora organizations in the US collectively felicitate you on your appointment as Ambassador to Sri
Lanka. With your extensive diplomatic experience in South East Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America,
you bring an unparalleled expertise to the onerous task with which you are entrusted in Sri Lanka.
Madam Ambassador, you are well aware of the veritable existential threat the Tamil People are facing in the
island. It is in view of these dire conditions confronting our people in the homeland, all the major Tamil
diaspora organizations have arrived at a “Common Position” as a basis to resolve the national conflict in the
island of Sri Lanka. In that “Common Position”, we have put forward the following urgent requests to the
international community:

1. An internationally conducted and monitored Referendum that allows people living in the
   north-eastern region of the island of Sri Lanka (Northern and Eastern province) prior to 1948 and their
   descendants to find a democratic, peaceful, permanent, and political solution that meets Tamils’
   aspirations.
2. An interim International Protection Mechanism in the north-eastern region of the island.
3. The Repeal of the Sixth Amendment to the Sri Lankan Constitution
4. The referral of the situation in Sri Lanka to the International Criminal Court with respect to genocide,
   crimes against humanity and war crimes, and legal action against Sri Lanka before the International
   Court of Justice under the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide
   and the Convention against Torture.
   Dear Ambassador Chung, in your forthcoming diplomatic functions in Sri Lanka we trust you will take into
   consideration the above requests and endeavor to promote these urgent needs of the Tamil people in the
   island of Sri Lanka to the best of your ability. Thank you so much!

வட அமெரிக்கத் தமிழ்ச்சங்கப் பேரவை (பெட்னா- FeTNA) கடந்த 35 ஆண்டுகளாக வட அமெரிக்காவில் தொடர்ந்து தமிழ்ப் பணியாற்றி வருகிறது. வட அமெரிக்காவில் உள்ள புலம்பெயர் தமிழர்களின் தமிழ் மொழி மற்றும் பண்பாடு சார்ந்த தேவைகளை நிறைவு செய்யும் ஓர் அமைப்பாக இருந்து வருகிறது. ஆண்டுதோறும் நடக்கும் பேரவை விழாவின் மூலம் வட அமெரிக்காவில் வாழும் பல்லாயிரக்கணக்கான தமிழர்களை ஒன்றிணைத்து தமிழ் மொழியையும் தமிழ்ப் பண்பாட்டையும் உலகிற்கு எடுத்துரைக்கிறது பேரவை.

அமெரிக்க தமிழ் செயற்பாட்டுக் குழு

அமெரிக்க தமிழ் செயற்பாட்டுக் குழு ( USTAG) கடந்த 12 ஆண்டுகளாக அமெரிக்காவில் தமிழர் உரிமை சார்ந்த செயல்பாடுகளைச் செய்து வருகிறது. அமெரிக்க அரசாங்கத்திடமும், ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபையிடம் தொடர்ந்து கோரிக்கைகளை வைத்து செயல்பாடுகள் செய்து வருகிறது. ஜெனிவாவில் நீதி, பொறுப்புக்கூறல் சார்ந்து தீர்மானங்கள் நிறைவேறத் தொடர்ந்து பணியாற்றி வருகிறது.

உலகத் தமிழ் அமைப்பு

உலகத் தமிழ் அமைப்பு 1991 ஆம் ஆண்டு அமெரிக்காவில் நிறுவப்பட்டது; உலகளாவிய தமிழர்களின் அடிப்படை உரிமைகள், நீதி – நலன்களைப் பாதுகாப்பது, மீட்டெடுப்பது ஆகியவற்றின் பொருட்டுக் கடந்த 30 ஆண்டுகளாகச் செயலாற்றி வருகின்றது. தமிழர்களின் அரசியல் அதிகார மாண்பு, சமூக மேம்பாடு, பண்பாட்டுத் தெளிவு ஆகியவற்றுக்காக உலகத் தமிழ் அமைப்பு தொடர்ந்து உழைத்து வருகின்றது. உலகத் தமிழ் அமைப்பின் முக்கியமான குறிக்கோள் தமிழர்கள் இழந்து விட்டத் தன்னாட்சியை மீட்டு எடுத்தல் ஆகும்.

அனைத்து அரசியல் கட்சிகளுடனும் தொடர்புகொண்டு, எந்த அரசியல் கட்சி சார்பும் இன்றி தமிழ் மொழி, தமிழர் நலன், தமிழர் உரிமையை ஆகியவற்றை முன்னிறுத்தி உலகத் தமிழர் அமைப்பு செயலாற்றி வருகின்றது. தமிழ் நாட்டிலும் மற்றும் பிற நாடுகளிலும் உள்ள அரசியல் கட்சிகள், தலைவர்கள், கலைத்துறையினர், பிற அமைப்புகள், ஆர்வலர்கள் போன்றோருடன் இணைந்து தமிழர் உரிமை ஒன்றையே அடிப்படையாக வைத்து நிலைப்பாடுகளை எடுத்து வருகின்றது.

இலங்கை தமிழ் சங்கம் அமெரிக்கா

இலங்கை தமிழ் சங்கம் அமெரிக்கா,1977ம் ஆண்டு, வட்டுக்கோட்டை பிரகடனத்தின் ஓராம் ஆண்டு நிறைவில் தொடங்கப்பட்டது. கடந்த நாற்பத்தி நான்கு ஆண்டுகளாக, இலங்கை தமிழ் சங்கம் அமெரிக்காவில் தமிழ் கலை, கலாச்சாரத்தை வளர்ப்பதிலும், இலங்கையில் வாழும் தமிழ் மக்களின் வாழ்வாதார, பொருளாதார மேம்பாட்டிட்க்காகவும், இலங்கையில் வாழும் தமிழ் மக்களின் மனித உரிமைகளை நிலை நிறுத்தவும் செயல் பட்டு வருகிறது. வட அமெரிக்காவிலேயே தொன்மை வாய்ந்த சங்கமான இலங்கை தமிழ் சங்கம் அமெரிக்கா தமிழ் சங்கம்கள் மற்றும் இலங்கை தமிழ் சமூகங்களின் வழி காட்டியாக விளங்கி வருகிறது.
