Family of Snowbirds crash victim Capt. Jennifer Casey releases statement – May 20
At the Canadian navy dockyard in Halifax, honorary Lieutenant Colonel Corrine MacLellan reads a statement on behalf of the family of Capt. Jennifer Casey, who was killed in the May 17 crash of a Canadian Forces Snowbirds aircraft in Kamloops, B.C. Capt. Richard MacDougall, the pilot of the aircraft, was injured. The Snowbirds had been deployed in a cross-country tour to boost morale of Canadians and to pay tribute to frontline workers during the COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. Capt. Casey was the team’s public affairs officer and was originally from Halifax. The tour, which was known as Operation Inspiration, has been suspended.
