NDP Leader Jagmeet SIngh hosts townhall on future of Laurentian University – April 24, 2021

NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh hosts a virtual townhall demanding government action to save Laurentian University. The Sudbury, Ontario, institution is terminating 58 undergraduate and 11 graduate programs as well as roughly 110 staff positions as it restructures amid insolvency. He is joined by northern Ontario New Democrats Charlie Angus (Timmins–James Bay) and Carol Hughes (Algoma–Manitoulin–Kapuskasing). The university is the only public institution with a mandate to support francophone, Indigenous and anglophone communities.
